On 59th Anniversary of Medicare, Coloradans Hand Deliver Letter to Boebert’s Offices Across CD3
On the 59th anniversary of Medicare's creation on July 30, Rocky Mountain Values organized Coloradans in Grand Junction and Pueblo to deliver a message to Congresswoman Lauren Boebert: stop pushing for Medicare cuts.
In the letter, Coloradans delivered a rebuke to the conservative Republican Study Committee budget proposal and the Project 2025 agenda that would gut the programs nearly 1 million Colorado seniors depend on to access affordable healthcare in retirement:
“Moreover, your actions last spring to push the United States towards its first-ever national debt default, using the threat of economic crisis to force harmful cuts to Medicare and other critical programs, is particularly alarming.
"Representative Boebert, you have neglected your responsibility to protect the healthcare and retirement security that older Coloradans have worked for, earned, and deserve. As we mark the 59th anniversary of Medicare, we call on you to oppose Project 2025 and its detrimental proposals, and to do better for Colorado seniors.”
