Following the latest passage of a continuing resolution to avert a government shutdown last Friday, residents of Colorado delivered a letter to Rep. Boebert expressing deep concerns about continued prioritization of an extreme agenda over the well-being of Colorado residents within the budget negotiations.
In the letter, Coloradans reminded Boebert that she still represents CD-03 and implored the Representative to work towards solutions that cut costs for Colorado families, enabling them to earn more, pay less, and live better lives. Up to this point, the House GOP has held the government hostage in order to advance anything but help to Coloradans including impeachment proceedings, gutting programs and supporting big corporations.
The letter reads, “We have examples of leadership in our state that prioritize the needs of Colorado families, such as Senator Michael Bennet's efforts to expand child tax credits and Representative Yadira Caraveo's advocacy for lowering healthcare costs, particularly in rural areas. We implore you to consider these examples and work towards solutions that cut costs for Colorado families, enabling them to earn more, pay less, and live better lives.”
Specific Areas of Concern: The letter highlights specific areas of concern, including continued advocacy for cuts to the Social Security Administration, housing assistance programs, funding to address tax evasion, and support for affordable healthcare centers. The letter expresses particular concern about proposed cuts to the Head Start program, emphasizing the disproportionate impact on working families and advocating for policies that support a better quality of life.
Finally, the letter closes by asking Boebert to reconsider her positions moving forward that may increase the burden on hard working Coloradans.
